A Vision Rooted in
Faith and Community
Zuhurah Education Centre (ZEC) is an Islamic-founded school located in Nkondo, Luweero District, Uganda, dedicated to nurturing disciplined, knowledgeable, and morally upright individuals.
The school was founded in 2008 by Dr Ahmad Kaweesa Sengendo and Hajjat Zulaikah Nakayenga with a vision of providing a learning environment that combines strong Islamic values with quality academic education.
What began as a Qur'an memorisation school has grown into a full institution offering nursery, primary, and theological education — always guided by the belief that true education shapes character as much as it builds knowledge.
Milestones

2008
Founded as a Qur'an memorisation (Tahfidh) school by Dr Ahmad Kaweesa Sengendo and Hajjat Zulaikah Nakayenga, focusing on deep Qur'anic knowledge and moral character.

2012
Expanded to include nursery and primary education under the Uganda National Curriculum, while maintaining its strong Islamic theological foundation.

Today
ZEC operates three sections — Tahfidh, Nursery, and Primary — serving learners from age 5 upward and continuing to grow as a centre of academic and spiritual excellence.

Dedicated to Qur'an memorisation and Islamic scholarship. Students develop a profound connection with the Qur'an alongside strong moral and spiritual foundations.
Providing early childhood education in a warm, nurturing Islamic environment — building curiosity, confidence, and character from the very first years.
Delivering the Uganda National Curriculum alongside Islamic theological studies, equipping learners with the knowledge to excel academically and spiritually.
